Hi

We were there twice on 17-10-97 once in the morning then off to KLAS then back to Nellie in the afternoon

In the morning we logged 6 CC F-16 arriving ( I actually have some pictures taken between the runways from the desert)

86-0369 CC red
87-0304 CC red
87-0291 CC red
86-0332 CC red
86-0355 CC red
87-0332 CC red

The only thing you need to be careful about is that in the afternoon a further 8 CC reds arrived
87-0389 CC red
87-0330
87-0292
87-0318
87-0314
87-0308
87-0310
87-0334
All CC F-16 red
I am assuming 17/10/97 was an arrival/ change over day but I can't remember

The only AV-8B we saw at Nellis on 17/10/97 were

WF-00 163863
WF-08 ending in 72 should be 163872 ( edited for code typo)
WF-11 163862
WF-03 163868
WF-21 162969
WF-02 ???????
WF-10 ???????
WF-?? In hangar
WF-09 ( 163881)
WF-12 ( 163864)

Plus some unidentified hornets
NE-311
NE-304

Based F-16 queries
F-16D ??-???? "53wg"
F-16C " 79 TEG"

While we were there a single German tornado landed 45+96 !

Thanks I need two of those hornets

The only two tankers I have are 91473 and 80080 both UTAH

I have a photo of the 57wg eagle but the serial is too small to make out and weirdly it's not in my log so either one of us didn't read it or I didn't write down the markings
( By process of elimination between log and photos I think it is in [ 80-0030, 81-0055, 80-0006 all WA on the day] from the position in my log I think it is 80-0006 ( Paul Coppin will know for sure as he was poling while I took photos))

We were at Edwards show the next day 18-10-97

( There must of been a line up or flypast of four ED F-16 one of which was 82-1047 ( ex TJ!!) But we didn't get the other three)

I didn,t see 4 F16,s fly, but there were 6 on the flightline, inc. 78-0096.82-1047.88-0445.
On the same flight line were 11 F15,s... I got 10 76-0116 76-0130 76-0132 76-0134 79-0013 83-0011 84-0046 87-0180 89-0486 and RSAF 93 0867

Did you get the 2 x MH60,S on the flight line ?? Probably not !
On the far side a few more went begging
B.2A [NOT 82-1070 as that was flying when I saw it]
C-27
QF-4
Now this is a long shot, when we arrived from Bakersfield [if I remember correctly] on entering Edwards we passed a "small"compound on the left which contained a few "bits and pieces", it was stop go all the way in so i planned to stop on the way out to get them, unfortunately we were sent out another way, does it ring any bells with you Mike, my wife wrote down one or two but the numbers meant nothing afterwards.
Thanks for all your info.

Yes sorry it was six ED F-16 and I have the same three as you do.

The eagle are a bit more problematic - in my log I have 11 Eagles on the flight line but I don't have 76-0132 listed!
My log looks like this
84-0046 ED
87-0180 ED
76-0134 ED
????? '71FS' FF
83-0011 FF
79-0013 ED
????? SJ ( probably 88-1674 from Nellis
89-0486 SJ ( at Nellis the previous day with 88-1674 )
76-0130 ED
76-0116 ED
93-0867 RSAF

Can you tell where 76-0132 was parked in your log?
I have two FF eagles next to each other in my log but I can't remember if both were in the flight line or one was in static, ditto for the 2 SJ eagles

The only other B-2A in my log is 21068 ED which I think was in the display hangar

I don't remember the compound unless you mean the preserved test aircraft?

We looked in a couple of other hangars
Hangar 1207
61-0326 EC-135
10891 C-18
10904 T-38 ED

Hangar 1210
02103 C-130 AK

Plus a T-33 on a pole - 29846

Cheers

PS for the far side I just have - ' F-111, white C-141 and a C-129'

Would love to know what the F-111 was!

Hi Mike. Sorry about the delay, work commitments and rummaging through the attic for the old "on the day" log book, hope not to confuse things to much, but here we go
In my old "on the day" log book on the flight line I have the following F15,s
84-0046 uncoded and mkd Glorius Glennis
79-0013 uncoded
87-0180 ED

76-0116 ED mkd 412 TW
87-0180 ED
83-0011 FF
76-0134 ED
The above 7 flew in The Flight of Eagles Flypast
Then I have
RSAF 93-0867 [someone in the bar in the evening gave me that one --from the only spotter I saw in a month on the west coast !]
76-0130 ED
I can,t find any record of 76-0132, certainly not in static and I didn,t look in the hangars, From BARG perhaps ? I,ve scrubbed it anyway.
The compound I mentioned held a few dismantled a/c, certainly not the Jimmy Doolittle Airpark
My list from the NASA hangar area on the far side is as follows
NC141A 61-2779
C119B 48-0352
C-123K 54-0683
C-7B 63-9765 ex Golden Knights
U/I B2A
U/I C-27
U/I QF-4
U/I Grey F16
I didn,t note an F-111

My BARG,s from that year
have been long binned !
