Hi, Been a member for a while, but yet to post. Not sure why I haven’t yet, but here goes.

I’m Andy, regular at RIAT since 1993, done 12 of them. Nearest military field is Cosford as live in the West Midlands, but make the run over to Lakenheath and Mildenhall when I can. Of course lockdowns have put pay to that, so last visited in October 2019.

Hoping to start venturing out again now, so EGUL and EGUN along with EGVA are in the viewfinder to visit ASAP.

Hi everyone,
My name is Andy and I have been in love with military aircraft as soon as i was shown them back in 1989. Unfortunately due to family and work commitments I took a huge break from 2001 till now. So apologies in advance for the mountain of questions I am about to be asking you all as I am trying to catch up with all the changes and reductions in both aircraft and airfields. (Only started to see a few Typhoon's when i stopped and i now see they are being scrapped!)
My locals haunts were Cottesmore and Wittering so i already know i'm going to have to travel further afield to actually see anything.

Hi all, Nick Here been lurking about for a bit, about time I said hi. I'm based in the west of Scotland, visit the mound at Prestwick now and again. Was a long time Leuchars airshow regular, and went to every Leuchars since the late 80s. Me and my brother go to 1 big airshow per year in the UK to try and scratch the itch. Once the pandemic is a thing of the past we will continue to work our way around the UK airshow scene and tick off our bucket list aircraft.

Hi everyone,

Thanks to the Admins for accepting me so here’s a little introduction. My name is Shaun, I’m retired, and live in Sussex with my better half.

Like many others here, my love of aircraft started early and led to me joining the Air Cadets. Air Experience Flying in Chipmunks and Summer Camps at Marham and Lyneham in the early 1970’s followed, with cross-country trips and circuit bashing in Herc’s and a round-Britain flight in a Comet whilst at LYE further whetting my appetite for all things aviation. Most of us oldies have fond memories attending Airshows at the likes of Alconbury, Bentwaters, Boscombe Down, Lakenheath, Mildenhall, Upper Heyford, Waddington etc... Sadly, no longer at most of these and suspended everywhere else. Let’s hope we can soon return to normality.

Anyway, I don’t want this small bio to become an old codgers maudling life story, so I’ll cut it short now and look forward to enjoying what is probably the best Military Aviation Enthusiast forum there is!

Take care and have fun everybody.

Shaun

Thanks DavieB
I saw it on a reg plate site in 2016 and thought "I've gotta have that!"
It has a couple of black stickers on it so it looks like F-4 'NAM as well as a Mr Spook sticker ;)
I put a plate on without sticker additions for the MOT :halo:

Suspect there is probably similar on some on the back of a beat up old Chevvy trundling round the Nevada desert being driven by a crusty old guy in a baseball hat with "Rolling Thunder Vet" on the front!

You're probably right :thumb:
I've met a few 'crusty old vets' there over the years, in the desert and out of it! Usually over a beer or two! :D

Hi everyone,

Thank you to accept me in your forum. Forgive my possible language/conjugation/grammar errors, I am a French immigrant currently resident in Scotland.

I discovered your forum when I was looking for information about the Exercise Joint Warrior. I am first of all a photography enthusiast (a bit of everything), and I started to enjoy taking pictures of military equipment at air events near my parents' home and during my thesis. I lived by the sea, near the military port of Toulon (base port of the French aircraft carrier).

So I began to practice a lot more picture of Military boats, and occasionnaly, some plane (You need to have a good lens for the plane).

Since arriving in Scotland (shortly before the lockdown) I have been left wanting, although I have seen a few.

Anyway, I hope to get to know aviation a bit better, especially from the UK.

Thanks again for the welcome.

This is the last picture of a plane I managed to take a few months ago.
