Welcome to this interesting and informative site. I'm just down the road in Horncastle.

Wondered if you are aware of the Sleaford and District Legionnaires Aviation Society? We generally meet every third Tuesday on the first floor of the Legionnaires Club - only the next meeting is on the 11th December and is the AGM. http://community.lincolnshire.gov.uk/sdlas PM me if you need any more info.

Anyway, enjoy!!

Well, we have obviously met there. I lived round the corner from Bill. It was probably something to do with photography that he had the nickname of "Cropper".

Did know a Richard, he if my memory serves correct was from the Horncastle area.
But I think he moved away from there some time ago.
When I was a member he used to sort out all the trips to the bases ect.

Well at one time as I said I lived in Ruskington very near to Bill. I then moved to Horncastle, and I am still there. Yes I did organise trips for SDLAS. We had some good ones to Lakenheath, Mildenhall, Coningsby and Rolls Royce at Derby. Unfortunatley trips are now few and far between. Probably due to getting more difficult to gain access and the cost of hiring coaches, but there are still the occasional visits where we tie up with Cranwell.
