Hello!
Hi everyone,
I thought after a year of lurking I had best start to post! I live near RAF Fairford so always keen on seeing what is going on so I can make a trip up to see what is coming in, not managed to time it right yet for an arrival
I've lived under RAF (MoD) Lyneham hold growing up and miss the Hercs flying over repeatedly, now I get excited every time an A400 or Voyager pass over on approach to Brize.
Anyway, enough boring stuff, really enjoying the pics and info, easily the best place to visit, and be a part of!
Adi.

Re: Hello!
Welcome aboard; hope you're at the right place this morning! Wish I could be, but don't have the wheels any more.

Re: Hello!
Thanks!
Unfortunately not nearby today... in London working. My timing is appalling, good job it's a deployment over a few weeks so I may get lucky once or twice as can only pop over for 45 minutes at a time around a lunch break.

Re: Hello!
You probably won't be able to access Heads Up just yet so just letting you know a "Mytee 96" is inby Fairford as I write; "Mytee 51" from the USA is expected around 1416Z (add 1hr for local time). Both should be B-52s.

Wow, this is really the best place to come I don't have access yet... but not sure I'll ever go anywhere else now!

Re: Hello!
This is my first message and find the site a bit complex. I live in Worcester about an hour from Fairford. I have followed the recent in bounds to the base BUT then it all goes quiet and I have no idea which area to try to access . So what do I go to? If I go down to the base while it is active where is the best place to park to avoid previous difficult police?

Glad you like it, was fortunate at the 2015 RIAT to be allowed to wander around her. My favourite and sorely missed.

Re: Hello!
Hi John, if I ever head there I head to the RAF fairford section. There's a map with good viewing spots on there. I find the police just want to know why you're there, then let you carry on. Other may have other experiences...
Seems the heads up section may have more info but I can't see it yet.

Thought it only right that I say hello to you through the welcome section, we are a very friendly bunch almost like a family - we dont always see eye to eye, but heck what family does.
