Falcon 20s

So what exactly do the Cobham Falcon 20s do for the RAF? There has been one spinning around in the North Sea for a while now, without any (visible) military jet anywhere near it, other than a couple of Eagles off the Norfolk coast. Or are they practicing long-range radar pickups?

They don't just provide services for the RAF, and it's not always a case of working with other aircraft.
