Hello, been a lurker for a little bit and had a keen interest in military aviation for a while, recently got into airband scanning during lockdown and it’s great for working at home, better than a normal radio!

Hey fellow plane geeks
New to the forum, but been looking up at the sky for years - my dad's fault for taking me to Prestwick Airport aged 4!! (crikey almost 50 years ago!!)
Currently in Aberdeenshire so not a lot of above action but the occasional Typhoon buzzes past the house now and again!
I was working at RAF Lossiemouth building the new P8 hangars for a few months around 2 years ago - watching the practice QRA (did I get that right?) take-offs with full afterburners was fun to say the least! Prior to that working in Craigellachie with no end of fast jets screaming over the office
Spend my time now (working from home) with an eye on 360radar (I'm a contributor) for anything interesting passing overhead and listening to the milair scanner for any chitchat - quite a lot this morning on 253.125 MHz!

Hi
New to the forum. Main aircraft hobby is the dreaded civil...but will take an interest in anything aviation. Live in Leyland and work in Preston so can hear and see quite a few Eurofighters in and out of Warton, just difficult to get over there to do any spotting at the moment given the restrictions and even without the restrictionsn work and the two young kids get in the way. Been seeing more and more of the P-8s from Lossie heading south to Sigonella over the top of home and FC is always the source for confirmation it seems. Pretty sure I was a member previously but lost account details over time.
Cheers
Darren

Hello to all of you ( happy new year P&A )
If you have as much pleasure from FC as some of us oldies, you will be glad that you have begun to contribute.
Joe-bloggs hang on to your Pentax. Mine still comes in handy and you seldom get their value when selling.

Re: New to FC or not so new? Introduce yourself here.
Hello all. Glad to be part of this interesting and fun forum. Looking forward to being part of it and to continue my education in aviation which has been ongoing for 50 yrs. I did start my PPL in Florida in 2001 but due to bad weather never completed it. I tried to continue in the UK but things went against me so this was never completed. Not meant to be and never now will be.
Military aviation has been an interest since my parents moved to Brandon in 1982 and, when home from University it was wonderful seeing the F1-11s flying overhead, not forgetting the even more wonderful A-10 tank buster's.
Today I have my own property (6 yrs) in Brandon which is right on the flight path of Lakenheath, about 1.5 miles from the end of the runway. I am in my element and have just, at recommendation of a friend, purchased a scanner and a couple of dipole antenna's so I can expand my hobby now I am semi-retired.
I love photography and am still trying to get the perfect shot. Thus far it has eluded me and prob always will but I will keep going with stills and video and try and learn from my peers.
Thanks for having me on this forum.

Morning all, my names Ben, first airshow attended was RAF Chivenor in 1989, then the next year was Abingdon 1990 with the famous fly-past, and that was it I was hooked ! Been into aviation ever since and not missed a RIAT apart from 1993. Only recently started getting into logging serial numbers this year, but thankfully managed to pull off lots of historic data from online sources. Thanks for the acceptance into the forum.
