Hi from Norwich

Post by dave_b5678 » Thu May 26, 2016 8:49 pm

Hi everyone,

Just introducing myself on this forum - I'm in Hellesdon, Norwich, about a mile from the airport, I see there are a few other Norfolk boys on here too  Grew up in the fens where I had a good view of aircraft taking off and landing at Mildenhall, whilst also being on the flightpath for Lakenheath. Spent many evenings listening to the MVT-225 scanner whilst watching the action. Always remember the occasional manoeuvres around the village, where the MH-53's would be so low! Both neighbours were US servicemen from Feltwell, one of which I'm still in touch with. Used to give us heads up when interesting aircraft were inbound :D

RIAT regular, but unfortunately not able to go this year :( Got some pics of previous years here:

and a few from previous visits to Heath and Hall:

Also got a virtual radar server setup in the loft, feeding to FR24 and MilmodeS: http://daveslaptop.no-ip.biz:8081/virtualradar/ Working well, but hope to get a new aerial up in the near future.

Not got so much time for spotting these days as have a 2 year old in tow, although she did thoroughly enjoy RIAT last year! Was sorry to have missed the bulk of the F22s recently, as unable to get down to Lakenheath, but did manage to see one over the house.

So thanks for having me! May post a few more images when I have time, as have a few aircraft pics/videos from visit to Israel.

Dave

Your pics are well tasty, by the way

Thanks for comments Gents, will be in touch Paddyboy! Have got plenty of pics, but will save them for the Photo section.

By the way, not sure if it was just me being impatient, but it took about a month of trying to register before I got an email through to report my account was active. Replying to administrator@fightercontrol.co.uk got me an error:

The error that the other server returned was:
550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable

Maybe issues with my gmail account, but thought I'd mention it :)
