Thought I would get this thread started...
2 French Air Force Rafale's have been working with the Typhoon and photoship west of Cosford and will be landing at Shawbury.
FAF7410A and B are the callsigns with "A" inbound to land 10.14L

Tiffy showing as ZJ914 and returning east via Lichfield corridor
Herc ZH889 in vicinity of Cosford presently, low level
Chinook ZA681 is heading north-west near Moreton-in-Marsh, up towards Worcester so a possible candidate for later
BAF491 currently heading west up Thames estuary and showing as FA-136. Doing a bit of sightseeing on the way in I guess

Thanks for the thread Reds1966 managed to catch what I assume to be one Rafale on the way into Shawbury from a Whitchurch/Tilstock direction earlier.

Question for Shawbury locals… are the Rafale visible or photographable from outside?
I need both and will have a drive over if so.
Many Thanks
Andy

The second one stayed with the photoship and the Typhoon for another 5 minutes or so before heading up to Shawbury. Not sure if that helps anymore.

Thanks Mike, although I thought we normally had a movements thread under Shawbury for anything moving in and out of there for the show?

I was referring to mikepaparomeo's post that was mostly about movements that aren't Shawbury related.

I'm 1 Adult ticket short for the airshow, any ideas if there's a way to get hold of one?

OK, can you ask on that thread please? This thread is for air show participants that are landing at Shawbury.
Good luck!

They were both visible earlier from the North-West gate but are very heat hazed aswell if you want photos.
Go north on the A49 and you will eventually come to a right turn for Morton Corbet / Stanton / Shawbury, go down this road until you come to a junction and turn right
towards Acton Reynald, follow this path until you come to a fence that is very low and you can see all over the base. Theres enough room for 4 or 5 cars.
Just type Acton Reynald in Google maps and you can see the road running South-East towards the base.

Thanks for that Luke… I was there this evening when it was cooler and noted them.

Evening, anyone know what was wrong with Red 6 or 7 this evening on arrival at Shawbury?
Team did a normal run and break into the circuit to land. All was normal than either 6 or 7 (wasn't counting) touched fully down rolled a bit then powered up and went around. It then did 2 circuits and landed normally.
Didnt have my scanner with me but all I can think of was a break failure indication on landing and he decided the safe option was to take back off given the 5 or 6 slowing jets in front of him.
Never seen a Red do this on landing before.
Cheers
