As the title suggests I`m asking you lot what you think the next GB should be?

I`ll have my `finger on the trigger` with this one making sure it does not lapse and I`m looking at a start date of the 1st September, finishing on the 1st December.

An idea perhaps would be a Battle of Britain/Blitz GB as the dates roughly cover this period 72 years ago.

The next one was Photo Reconnaisance. I've got kits for it.

If that was the next in line then I`m happy for that to go ahead mate.

Was there anything else that was on the cards?

30+ views and only one response??? Come on chaps, it`s no wonder this section has taken a bit of a dive recently....

Do I have a second and a third for a Photo Recon GB or would other members prefer something else?

(Sorry Steve, nothing against the Photo Recon GB, just want to try and kick some life back into this section... )

How about an Olympic Security GB?

I know the Olympics will be well over by then but I think it could be interesting.

Was wondering that myself but im on a bit of a forced break from the table with decorating the girls room. Not enough space to get comfy and too much dust around! Also lots of ot and other things to do with the kids!

Ill defo be into the Photo Recce GB, though i suggest we expand it to a Recce GB, ie all things non-armed warfare, ELINT, AEW as well etc.. What di we think?

I agree, although I feel the number of subjects would be limited. I can only think of Merlins, Tiffies, Seakings, Puma`s and the odd E-3. Of course I`m happy to be corrected.

Well hopefully we can all pick this section back up again and I highly reccomend you send the kids and wife on day long shopping trips. Thats how I get round a similar situation....

Now that`s a good idea, firstly because Steve will be happy he hasn`t bought those kits for nothing..., ..., but mainly because it opens it up to a wide selection of subjects that are not in the usual `fast and pointy` catagory. Also there is an historical element which might be a nice touch.

I`m inclined to go for this, so would everyone be happy with that?

I have a Photo Recce kit I could use, so Im happy with it

This was Jamies post, after we all voted on the GB plan.

GB Dates - I will add them to the Calender also

1st Feb - 15th April
UK Air Defence Past and Present (Including Support)

1st April - 15th June
Cold War Aircraft (All Countries involved)

1st June - 15th August
Photo Reconnaissance Aircraft

1st August - 15th October
Tiger Meet (Including WHIFS)

1st October - 31st December
Gulf War 1 (All Countries involved)

We also have the Falklands 30th Anniversary GB - 2nd April 2012 - 14th June 2012. This can run alongside as a serparate GB

...... although I think we have to have to be a bit more realistic when it comes to GB`s. A few of those are overlapping and IMPO I just don`t think we have that many members who would be able to participate in all of them. Given the recent history of the GB`s on here and lack of participation, I feel we should do one GB at a time with a sufficent break inbetween so that members can have a breather.

I was planning on running this GB, (which seems is going to be the Recce idea), until December, have crimbo off and then in January start the Experimental/whif GB then.

Opinions?

Sounds good to me, got quite a few GB's in the near future so the extra time and layout would defo help me.

Sounds fine to me. Experimental was my option in the vote we did so that pleases me. As i'm a single full time dad now the extra timescale really helps. I'd suggest that future GBs after the new year be planned one at a time, where we'd all vote for what we wanted to do on that occasion. These long plans have never seemed to work and you get a situation where people will vote for something and then no longer be posting on here when that GB comes around.

Well if 7 and FTS are happy...., then so am I.

I`m going to start a new `chat` thread shortly for the upcoming Recce GB.
