"Victory 207" F-14A 160406

Post by jonf45 » Fri Jun 19, 2020 3:47 pm

Hi,

Slowly making my way through the Tomcat kit manufacturers! Next up is the new Academy one( to be finished as VF-142 Ghostriders machine if i can ever get hold of the later decals!!!) Anyway, finished off this Hasegawa F-14 today. This is BuNo 160406/AJ207, USS Nimitz, circa 1986.  The kit had far too many tiny/fiddly bits for my liking/ability, and disappointed that the wings cant swing. I had the idea of  not glueing the wing bladders so the wing position could be interchangeable then promptly put the long red stripe over the first set, idiot!!! I decided to do it with the Air Brakes, slats and spoilers deployed for a bit of variation. The decals went on really nicely too. I made a few mistakes as usual, and i really wish id left the wings clean as dont like how the scuff marks came out, but you live and learn(hopefully!)

On to the next one......
