Revell 1:72 Shackleton AEW2

Post by jonf45 » Wed Nov 13, 2019 3:33 pm

Hi,
Bought this ages ago but had a lot of issues with the fit, so gave up, then eventually got back round to it! Finished as WL756 of No.8 Squadron as seen by me at the 1988 RAF Chivenor Air Day!
Some bits went together really well but i had major issues with the 4 bits that make up the fuselage king decidedly warped! Was gutted to have to paint the propeller ends myself as the Airfix one has decals for you, much easier!!!
Probably should have bought a mask for the canopy too!!!
If nothing else, it prompted me to make a little diorama/Backscene!

Very Nice

It actually looks ok, having wrestled the old FROG/NOVO/Modelcraft and finally Revell MR.3 I might get around to the newer Airfix/Revell kits

That is a fantastic model and is finished very well indeed. It looks just like the real thing did. I used to hear and see them flying over my grandparents house in Elgin (near Lossiemouth) when I was there during school holidays

Well done mate. You would never know you had some difficulty with the fit

Chris
