Old 1965 Photograph
A few of you may recall I mentioned that back in 1965 my Father had his collection of models featured in the local papers and were displayed.
My mother and father found the proof photo of some of his collection and as promised here it is. How many different types can you identify?
By the way that is also me in the photo eeeeek!
Pity it is black and white because they were all superbly hand painted with a brush..

Re: Old 1965 Photograph
Oh wow, I remember a lot of those kits.
In 1962 when I was 8 we lived in London and my father built a load of aircraft and hung them from my bedroom ceiling but I don't think he painted them.

There's some there that I made as a lad. Frog Gannet, Airfix Buccaneer S1, P1127, Whirlwind, Belvedere, F1 Lightning, SR53, I always wanted a Frog Sea Vixen and Wessex but never got one.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
Re: Old 1965 Photograph
Cheers. The Gannet in particular was a cracker. Gloss navy blue on top and the correct colour underneath with contra rotating props..that moved correctly. I am pretty sure most of them are still in the attic. His Javelin was his favourite as that was what his squadron flew ( Leuchars at the time). It is a cracker too.

One of his models was a cracker of a Hunter...in Leuchars Squadron colours of course!

Re: Old 1965 Photograph
Yip, it is a Fairey Gannet. Contra rotating props ( worked) . Very good model actually with deep blue uppers.
There are a few more that I need to discuss with my old man. Some very interesting ones.
