That is a very nice finish and the model looks great.
May I suggest you add a wash to the model and this will enhance the panel lines?

Very nice! Personally I prefer the "as new" look.........often people overdo the weathering!......e.g.Naval aircraft were usually maintained to a very high standard, and aircraft tended to be well looked after!

Thanks ,I normally do a wash on the panel lines ,but the panel and rivet detail on this kit looks fine without a wash, I think it would overdo it somewhat.tc2324 wrote:That is a very nice finish and the model looks great.

Re: Gloster Meteor Mk 4
Rodders,
Looks to be a very nice kit and you have done a smashing job of it. I would love one of these kits, and hopefully will get one soon
Re Panel lines, I do agree that on the scale and with a silver finish that it is not really required. Gentle tonal variations add a lot more scale and realism than that of a wash; after all, on a real aircraft with a silver/NMF finish, you do not see mass shadows forming in the panel recesses.
Take the following for example, no panel wash on these

Airfix 1/48 Scale Gloster Javelin FAW.9R by JamesV9820, on Flickr
Trumpeter 1/32 scale F-100D Super Sabre by JamesV9820, on Flickr
Again well done Rodders, looks like a lovely build.

Hi James
That Super Sabre looks superb
This is the first time I have seen some shots of the 1/45 Javelin on FC
I/we would love to see some more (I have just bought this for my youngest nephew as his first 'big scale' build)
Best regards
Patrick

Paddy,
Thanks for the comment - I will post a thread up somewhere in the modelling section later this evening - I do have the say the Javelin is a stunning kit to build!
