It sure is big, big enough for me to attempt my first air brushed model :O :O :O :D
I `m going to see what I can pick up tomorrow. It will only be a starter kit and a couple of aerosol cans but we all have to start some where :D

Right I've changed my mind on this and I've decided to go for the tri-colour schemed TBF.

So some pics up soonish.

Revell 1/48 B-1B Lancer - "Update" Two.

Post by Ben Montgomery » Wed Oct 06, 2010 1:30 pm

Well, I'm in!

Purchased this off of Steve (sullis585) for the good value of £50 (same price as a new one, but Steve kindly threw in the decal set as well!).

Hopefully it'll look something like this when it's done:

http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Ai ... 9d294aa91c" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Albeit without the vapour. Or the working engines. OK, it won't look that similar, I just wanted to show off my photo..

But yeah, I'm going to do it as a black nose jet, with some nose art, but havn't figured out what yet.

Eagerly awaiting the postman now!

Ben

PS - As I said to Steve, hopefully this will fair better than the last one, which fell off the ceiling overnight and hit me.

Yep - want to see if I can push it into the top five!

Working lights is definitely on the cards, I'm going to try fibre optics and stuff I think - hopefully with more success than on my AC-130.

That is going to be an impressive build Ben,
Have you seen the eduard set for this, its mainly engine parts but I think it would look nice.

Yeah I have seen the set Shaun - and will be buying it.

The kit comes with the engines encased in the feathers, but modern B-1s have the engines bare, a la F-15. So if I want to do a reasonably accurate one, I need the eduard kit!

Sorry for the lack updates :( Been very busy at work and I have just taken a build on for a friends Father. I have however started the 160. I have painted the cockpit very basically due to the fact you can see nothing of it. I have kept to the colours though. I hope to get this altogether tonight and then I can focus on the rest of the build. I am also looking at what finish to complete the 'beast' in :thumb: So far I am pleased with the kit but have seen some problamatic areas such as the gear... Very fiddly!!

Pictures to follow! :thumb:
Cheers

Ordered the Eduard Exhausts, and the B-1 Exterior/Interior kit today.

These exhausts are INSANE, with 52 parts to each nozzle. What have I let myself in for!

Also got to get hold of some JDAMs for the bomb bays, as well as the Towed Decoy housings, and a Sniper XR pod. :thumb:
