Humbrol CLEAR......cloudy marks

Post by binbrook87 » Sat Feb 08, 2014 7:30 pm

Has anyone experienced any problems with this varnish?

First time using it brushed it over the top of vallejo acrylic paints, went on fine and gave a nice gloss finish when dry, but as soon as it came into contact with water during decal application i got cloudy stains appearing! Some disappeared when the decals dried but others didnt. I also got the same effect when applying the final coat of vallejo matt varnish. Its as if the water and the matt varnish were seeping into the paint below?

thanks in advance :thumb:

I can't speak about the humbrol - but Vallejo Matt is water based so you should not have had any problems here

Thanks for the reply steve, was thinking of trying the vallejo gloss varnish, have you any experience with this?

The only gloss I have used is Klear. My Matt & satin coats are Vallejo. I have their gloss but not used it yet.

Sorry I can't help anymore
