Vulcan 200th scale

Some more babble about Dragon's new Vulcan on another well-known site:-

http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/inde ... opic=73048" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Bear in mind that the comments on that thread don't make any sense. The artwork depicts XH560. Unfortunately XH560 didn't have a TFR thimble on the nose. Nor did it have the large-bore 300 series engine exhausts. So the decals are going to be of no use. Even crazier is that the 27 squadron emblem is for the early paint scheme which had full colour red/white/blue insignia, not the later Dumbo design which was applied when red/blue insignia was applied. All very confusing, anyway the basic point is that you may as well throw the decal sheet in the bin! :lol:

Sprue shots suggest that it's a nice little kit though. Not completely accurate but not bad considering its small size. It looks suspiciously like they copied the Airfix kit in parts!

How unlike DML (not) to cock it up - what a bunch of muppets they are. I don't think Dragon Models believe in what they would call "lefelence" during the planning stages.

Why on earth offer a 1/200 Vulcan in any case - a very odd choice.

In case it looks like I'm not a DML fan, I'm not! I have long experience of their "couldn't care less" attitude to accuracy in the 1/6th modelling world. Unless it's a product of Nazi Germany, they just don't care.

I really don't understand the 200th scale either. For the sake of a few more millimetres they could have gone for 144th scale and caught a much wider market. I guess it's a Far East thing - 200th scale seems to be far more popular over there and they don't seem too fussed what the rest of the world wants!

For some reason Dragon/DML don't give a damn what their customers want - it's a case of "Take it or leave it, we are always right" - you ought to see the way they run their fan forums. One word out of line and you're banned and bad-mouthed by all of the moderators.

I can't believe that any forum would act like that? The very idea... :lol:

I've never seen anything like the DML fan-site regime.
