Where do you keep your models?

Post by Jonay » Fri Feb 18, 2011 12:44 pm

I know some of you have display cabnets and shelves, but surely you've built more than you can store?

I've got about 20 models sitting in my room at the moment and I've got no room for others (got 3 WIPs!)

I'm thinking of just chucking out the ones that are off lesser standard.. wait infact all of them bar 2 - my first (Gnat Red Arrow) and my Shackelton.

That means my Lanc (Dambusters) and my Catalina, my Hurricanes (Mk1 & IIb), my cobra, sea sprite, Me262, Bf210, P-47 etc etc

ive just got no room for them at all, and my 1/48 GR4, my 1/72 GR7 and my 1/32 Stuka are the three WIPs I'd like to keep aswell.

:( it makes me sad and its gonna be hard to do (alot of child memories of me and my dad!)

give then the local kids, they will play with them if they get broke fine you were going to bin them anyway

jammie has broke so many models, i give him the older ones to play with and replace with newer ones

All mine are either boxed up and put up in the loft (ready for Shows - after they have been to a few they are just left up there) or sold to people.

I find if they are left out they get dusty/damaged and broken!

Just briefly popped back on to say that I know how you feel Jonay. I have the same problem! Where exactly do you put models you've made but have no room for? I'm currently trying to decide how to thin out my Model collection, to keep the some (i.e my faves) and the ones what don't fit in! I've recently decided to go more for a miniature collection of the Corgi Fit The Box style Aircraft which of course are a little smaller and a little more manageable. Again Jonay your correct about the sentimental reasons - it's hard to decide.
