1:48 Sea Hawk decals

Post by HighlandSniper » Wed Nov 04, 2009 2:37 pm

I'm about to start on the Trumpeter 1:48 Sea Hawk. Whilst well catered for in most after market products, decals for this kit appear very thin on the ground.

I'm looking for the unit depicted on the RN Historic Flight aircraft, i.e. the Ace of diamonds scheme - if the worst comes to the worst I'll print my own decals, but I'd rather buy off the shelf. There's very little listed on Hannants' site - anyone got any ideas?

Thanks for your help, but that's the wrong kit - I have the Trumpeter Sea Hawk

Sorry I thought you wanted to build the ace diamonds aircraft , not to sure what difference the kit makes. If you get the classic airframes kit you can do the trumpeter one in a different scheme. The classic airframes kit is nicer as it contains alot of resin parts and contains the decals you are after

Thanks for your help but:

1. I don't want/need two Sea Hawks.
2. I'm happy with the Trumpeter kit which reviews well and avoids the hassles involved with mixed injection/resin which is exactly why I bought it.

I guess I'm going to have to do my own artwork and print decals unless anyone just happens to have this kit and doesn't need those decals.

I've got the Classic Airframes decal sheet (with the markings you want on it). PM me your address and I'll post it on? :)

Many thanks to Viper and especially to Sheff for their help with this matter which has now been resolved thanks to Sheff's kindness.

Nice of you to say.
If I can help I always will even if my methods can be a bit strange to some people
I hope we will see your sea hawk either as a WIP or as a finished build :thumb:
