Yup, a good day out this, the FAAM always put on a good show

Entry is the same as a regular visit to the museum, with the added bonus of plenty of club and trader stands dotted around between the aircraft, so good value for money. I'll be there with the Locate and Cement stand as usual displaying a few builds, probably including the recently finished Backfire, so if anyone does go do pop over and say hello

Cheers

Shaun :)

Just a reminder, this show is this coming Saturday, well worth a visit, especially for those who haven't been before ;)

Doors open to the public at 10AM, prices are as normal for the museum, so around a tenner or so...

Another good show today I thought, if a little quieter than normal- traders and clubs seemed to be down on previous years? Had a good look at the Airfix stand; the Valiant looks like it's gonna be a cracker, but the Sea Vixen looks to be on another level, really impressed with that one indeed. I don;t do 1/48, but I reckon I'll be swaying to the darkside for that one :thumb: The new Spit and Seafire were similarly lovely, hopefully Airfix will do the decent thing and scale them down :D

Would have posted some pics, but they've come out a bit rubbish TBH, need a proper flash gun....

Despite it a being a little quiet, I still managed to blag myself nine kits

Star buy was the new 1/72 Dragon Meteor III. A bit pricy, but I couldn't resist it and opened it as soon as I got home. I'd rate it as one of, if not the best looking 1/72 kit I've seen, an absolute winner. Still not sure it's worth the money, but I definitely don't regret buying it and can't wait to build it

Looking forward to doing it all again in February

Cheers

Shaun :)

How much was the Meteor Shaun, if you don't mind me asking?

OK, here's the valiant. Not a great pic, but it does looks very nice. Surface detail isn't as refined as the new Sea Vixen or Spit/Seafire, but it's not too bad at all. Definitely on my 'must have' list

Ben, RRP for the Meteor is £26.99 I believe whilst Mr Models had it for £24.99. I got mine from Vince at Modelsforsale who was selling it for £22.99, although he gave me a bit more off as I'm his favorite customer! I don't think you'll beat Vince's price TBH, which is still a lot for what it is. Like I said though, it's a stunning kit (I was practically drooling when I had a look in the box!) so perhaps worth it. Still haven't decided that one yet, but I'm definitely glad I now have it in the stash :thumb:
