Hi All,

This is my first post on FC after a long absence. Found my love of aircraft and modelling again and I have a request.

I'm looking for decals for a little project. I want to build a 1:48 Scale RAF Phantom in 228OCU (64 Sqn) markings from circa 1975. I have the kit but can't find decals for a beast of that era.

Can anybody help me out?

Cheers,

MC

Sorry can't help but when the model's done please post up pics. I was in 228 Sqn ATC at that time, we had a lecture from one of the instructor pilots (who'd done an exchange on Sea Vixens before joining the OCU and had some jaw dropping stories of life at sea) followed up by a day trip to Coningsby to see the workings of the OCU.

Thanks Glyn, I will try them.

No use I'm afraid. They only have the toned down later version.

I think I have some in the spares box but am working away from home at present - keep pestering me and I'll check when home.

They are not waterslide as such but are printed on the back of the carrier film which you then wet and it comes away.

I think they were produced by Ed Deeley (ED Models) - or sold by them - annoyed I can't remember the name at present - possibly Almark

Thanks guys. I forgotten how great and generous this forum was. If I don't balls it up, I will post a pic of the finished article. I'm planning on building XV405 which disappeared off Skeggy pier in 1975. I was inspired by a plaque that hangs in Skeggy lifeboat house that was donated by RAF Coningsby for the lifeboat crew's contribution to the rescue of the aircrew.
