over the years the reds have used about 60 different hawks they move them around to spread out the fatiuge lives, i have a list somwhere the new kit has the newest scheeme, but there have been 3 schemes over the years, the new scheem off the top of my head there have been 16 airframes, including the crash last year

but if we are talking next year, the new hawk kit will be out aswell, that has markings for a leeming 100sqn bird and the midnight hawks, and there is the demonstraighter hawk

As much as I like the idea of doing one aircraft, I think the joy of this starter group build is to let people choose what they want. Its like being 6 years old all over, having your mum and dad take you to the store to buy your first plane only to be told you are going to build this one and be happy with it!

Sorry but thats my point of view!

im more than happy as im sure others are for people to build what they want, i thnk you may have got the wrong end of the stick with the hawks, i was just offering alternate decal options for the reds, infact for a break from hawks i was thinking of doing somthing else myself, sorry to add to the confusion

I think that it is best if we leave this one until next year, as Ive got something that has come up and others are busy with there comp entrys/builds so I will bring this up again after crimbo.

But I will be doing the Gannet that I bought so if people want to do that kit then excellent, but if you want to do your own thing then go for it :thumb:

I will not be on as much for the next month or so but I will still be keeping any eye on things.

Happy modelling :thumb:

Mark,

Please do not think for a second that I was having a go, I just thought there was a theme of free reign to build what you liked. However, if the view by everyone on here is to build one type and the Hawk is as good as any, I am up for that too, and thank you for your offer to provide aftyermarket decals. I did think that the members on here could reduce your hawk build collection by 10 - 15 in a few weeks!

Group builds will start up again properly when the model comp has ended, so not long now :thumb:

I will start with the 'back to basics' which will run at the same time as another one for 4 months, but two months into it I will start another one so they are on a two month cycle but last for four months each (if that makes sence).

I think what I will do is look at the suggestions on this thread, draw up a list of 3 or 4 and let people vote. So if there is a build you would like to see then reply to this thread as you all have been doing :thumb:

Does that sound ok?

Harrier sounds grand mate! How about an RAF specials Group build? Compose a list of RAF specials - I.e Spotty Jag, Blue/Black Phantom, Camo Hawk etc and see if we can get as many as we can? :thumb:

Grand mate! There is quite a few that people could do! If each person does a different one then we would get a superb collection! :thumb:
