Saying that however, as my modelling bread and butter is whiffery, if a kit really bugs me I just cut it up and use it for spares on my next whif build as needed.

Considering it's essentially a 1965 kit, I thought it was okay. Especially as I only paid a couple of quid for it.waghorn41 wrote:Worst kit I have ever had is the Airfix P39Q I'm currently building for the Red Star GB comp here. Having built many hundreds of models from various manufacturers over 5 decades this kit is simply abyssmal; warpage, shrinkage, misaligned moulds, detail which starts and disappears, parts which are little more than blobs on the sprue. This kit is destined for a little whiffing once the contest is over - I only enter for fun and to make the numbers up. It's so bad I actually wrote to Airfix about it.

Airfix Grumman Goose.
It is so bad I have bent the ear of several Airfix staff and asked them to explain why they are creating such a good name for themselves with their new tool stuff
when new new modellers may pick up this kit and believe that all Airfix kit are this bad.
Don't get me wrong, I have successfully made loads of old stuff, like their Henschel and Do17, but they need to get the Goose and some of their older stuff (as mentioned here) off the shelves as they are damaging their good reputation.
Isn't that a reboxed Lindberg?peejay75 wrote:Umm so many,But Nichimo Hunter. What the hell were they on!!!!!!.Elasticband ejection seat,Decal sheet differant to box,ETC ETC ETC.But i did it in the end....And would have to say most old Airfix kits were pretty naff on the fitting together front IMO
