I mentioned some time back that there was a rumour going-around the modelling sites that Airfix might re-release their 72nd TSR2 kit as a spin-off product in connection with a Japanese Manga cartoon.
I've now received confirmation of this from Hornby, and the kit is expected to re-appear late this year as a cartoon-related product. Naturally, it means the decals for XR219 and so on will be missing, but at least the kit will be back, and of course it might even be cheaper than the original limited edition release!
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

If they are cheap enough then it may be a good chance to do some of the xtradecal 'what if' schemes, I will stick to the 48th ones I think.

(Sorry to bump old thread)
I saw the anime TSR2 on Wonderland Models. Is it available anywhere as a non-anime 1/72 kit?

Re: Airfix 72nd TSR2
I think the kit comes with the original decals in the kit from memory..
Re: Airfix 72nd TSR2
Thanks for the info. Think I'll be giving that a go soon.
Re: Airfix 72nd TSR2
This Kit is now out as 'TSR-2MS', and having looked in the box today it comes with the decals for the 4 most known frames, ie XR219, 220, 221 and 222.
