Your modelling highlights 2010

Post by viper3111 » Sat Dec 18, 2010 8:26 pm

We have had a pictorial of your modelling achievements (thanks Scott  ) so what was your modelling highlights of 2010.

For me it was going to telford for the second time and the airfix sea vixen finally coming out. Now all I need is the valiant to arrive :halo:

Anyone else had any modelling highlights (trying to forget all the bad stuff that has happened to a few of us :( )

Two for me. Firstly, having my first article published in SAM, and subsequently becoming a staff modeller for the mag. I'm very proud and priveleged to be part of the team

Second was getting a commission to produce a trophy to be presented as an award at RIAT. Originally, it was intended to be awarded to the crew with the best flying helmet design, but as no crews actually entered for it, it was subsequently handed to Paul 'Max' Moga, the 2008 Raptor demo pilot, to make up for the awards he didn't, but inevitably would, have won at RIAT 2008. Chuffed to bits with that :D

For me it has to be getting back into the hobby and also being asked to become a model moderator :thumb: :thumb:

Joining SLAM and beingf asked to be on the review team of Scale Modelling Now (scalemodellingnow.com) was probably the highlight of my last 12 months!
