What kits can you suggest?

Post by Unknown74 » Sat Nov 06, 2010 4:22 pm

Ok guys I've recently decided for some reason that I would like to build 3 models over the Cold Winter and they are a Buccaneer, a Hunter T.7 and an RAF Canberra TT.18 (100 Sqn). Now I am aware of the Airfix Buccaneer kit and that is the one I would like but can anyone suggest a good kit for the Hunter T.7 and the Canberra TT.18. I also am interested in the Airfix Nimrod but cost and space may be a factor against making that.

Hi there

The nimrod is coming down in price and can be picked up for around £15 dependant on where you go. As for the others can I ask what scale you are looking at?

If you are looking at 48th scale it is going to cost about £50 to buy the kit and the conversion to do a Canberra TT.18. If that is what you want to do then here is the conversion http://www.a2zeemodels.co.uk/canberra-t ... 4767-p.asp I think it also contains the decals you are after as well. Im not to sure if you can get a 72nd scale one as thats not really my area.

Just out of interest I have had a look at what you can get in 72nd scale and found this, its the conversion for the TT.18 with 100sqdn decals http://www.heritageaviationmodelsltd.co ... -617-p.asp Here is the kit http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AX05038 so you will be looking at around £30-40 dependant on how cheap you can find the kit.

I hope this has helped :unsure:

With your Hunter you have a choice of IN 1/72

A conversion for 1/72 http://www.modelhobbies.co.uk/shop/imag ... 721207.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A full resin kit http://www.emodels.co.uk/plastic-kits/p ... s_id=24934" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

or the old Matchbox F9/T7 kit

and for 1/48 there is this currently on Ebay with 19 hrs left to go http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-48-AEROCLUB-HUN ... 0640117958" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
