I'm intrigued by the folding saw!

My bag is quite full but that's mostly because i try and keep all my camera gear in the same place so simply grab the bag to go out. I only take it down to the essentials if there is a likelihood that i'll be walking around with the bag

Rather than bore you with the Camera and Lenses that goes in my bag / box, which appear to be amply covered above already, I usually take the following 'extras':
ABC Military Aircraft Markings Book
Notebook / Pencil
Nikon Spotter XL Pole (or Pentax 8-20 x 24 Binos)
Lens Cleaning Cloth
50 SPF Sun Cream - good for my receding hairline if the sun does appear!
500 ml Bottle of Drinking Water - goes in external pouch.

Chris, what do you use the Laptop for with the tablet too?

I can't run RTL1090 and PlanePlotter on the tablet - I was too cheap to shell out £800+ for the full version of Surface (Surface Pro), so I carry both around :)

Neither are particularly heavy, so it's not an issue for me.

Makes sense!

My bag includes the following:
Canon 450D
Sigma 70-300mm
Sigma 17-70mm
(on its way 150-500mm!)

PRE 295 scanner
Headphones
iPhone 5S - never leave the house without (full time nerd!)

The worse thing I seem to take with me is the company Blackberry....

That's got to be a woman's question, "what's in your handbag? :D Purse, bit of lippy, mirror, spare pair of knickers, furry polo that's been there about 6 months and half a brick - for ballast when things get rough!
