I worked for Cemex for three years, and had a tour around the Woodhall Spa site.

In one of their out buildings is the remains of a German Bomb that they kept as a memento.

The guys who were on site stated a few had been found due to the soft nature of the ground, when the bombs had no resistance to set of the impact fuses.

Good to hear the site will be preserved, as Cemex aggressively mined the site for the sand under the runways and surrounding lands.

I managed a few visits around RAF WS in my last role, it is a fascinating area and steeped in history.
I too look forward to it becoming a nature reserve, another outlet for the photographic hobbyist.
Critically observing Pension regulatory activity... :D

Makes a change from being turned into the usual industrial/retail/business park
Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.
