Flight Radar Pro

Post by colevans » Fri Apr 19, 2013 8:23 pm

I have flight radar pro on my pad but is not strong on picking up military movements. Is there an app I can use that will sort this? Doesn't matter if I have to pay for it....

I don't think there is mate as Flightradar24 recieves the aircraft info from the ADS-B transponder which most passenger aircraft have and most military aircraft don't. You will be able to pick up things like the Voyagers and the odd other transport aircraft but nothing else.

If I understand the FR24 forum correctly they may be working on adding the MLAT function to the Pro version in the future.
I think this will greatly increase the number of military aircraft that show up on there.

To date I have captured: RAF & RAAF Voyagers, GAF A310, JASDF 747 and various US charters doing trooping/cargo work. Just an idea of what's out there.

They are doing, they have receivers that can do it too, they're not selling them as yet though. I understand the plan is to test it in a few regions, then allow people to buy the FR24 branded ones, then start opening it up to anyone that can pass the required timestamps.
