Over the next few weeks, RAF Leuchars is set to play a major role in Exercise Joint Warrior 13-1 with Typhoon aircraft from Number 6 Squadron participating alongside Hawks from 100 Sqn from RAF Leeming and visiting aircraft from the French Navy.
With the kind permission of the Station Commander, it has been agreed to allow a maximum of 50 enthusiasts on to the station on Wednesday 24 April to watch and photograph the aircraft participating in the exercise.
If you would like to attend please send an e-mail with your full name and contact details to: enthusiastsday@gmail.com SUBJECT TITLE ENTHUSIASTS DAY 24 APR 13.
If your application has been successful you will receive an email asking for further information along with instructions of arrival times, where to park and an outline plan for the visit. We politely ask that you only bring one bag each, which may be security checked. This event is being run in conjunction with the Station Charity Group and we will be asking for donations to support their fundraising activities.
Please note that due to security restrictions this visit is only open to UK nationals. Successful applicants must bring either a valid passport or UK driving licence as photographic identification with them on the day.
If you can’t make the 24th April, don’t forget the 2013 Leuchars Airshow is on Saturday 7 September. Please visit the Airshow website at http://www.airshow.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for details of this year’s Show including aviation enthusiasts packages.

Re: Leuchars Enthusiasts Day
Gill, thanks for the heads up. Is there a date that if we haven't been contacted by, we can assume we have been unsuccessful? Purely for planning purposes, if I get on it I will need to change days off work.

According to the Leuchars face book page this is over subscribed and no more applications would be accepted after 5pm today, then it's luck of the draw.

I'd imagine so. The train station is only a 5 minute walk from the base. Probably best to contact those organising it though.cannonball13 wrote:I was also successful! is it possible to not go by car? as I'm planning on going by train from Dundee.
Re: Leuchars Enthusiasts Day
Bummer, didn't get on either. I'll probably end up at the fence that day anyway, so hope there's lots of action and the weather gives us a break.
