48th FW WSO charged with stalking and assault

Post by GOOSE » Sat Sep 08, 2012 5:58 am

An F-15E weapons system officer with the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath, England, will answer to charges of aggravated assault, stalking, reckless driving and failure to obey a lawful order at an Oct. 9 court-martial.

Maj. Matthew D. Pursifull, a 17-year veteran of the Air Force, called and visited the home and workplace of one of two alleged victims in the case between mid-March and early April after he was ordered not to, according to the charge sheet. Also during that time, Pursifull allegedly sent threatening text messages, followed the man and woman on “repeated occasions” and hid in the bushes outside a residence.

Pursifull is accused of swerving his vehicle toward the victims’ vehicle on April 1 “with a means likely to produce death or grievous bodily harm,” the charge sheet said. On the same day, he allegedly followed the vehicle too closely, accelerated past it, locked his brakes in front of the vehicle and drove in the center of the road against oncoming traffic.

Sometime between December 2011 and April 2, Pursifull allegedly burned one of the victim’s arms with a hot iron, the charge sheet said.

Pursifull faces four charges and seven specifications in all.

The names of the alleged victims were redacted from the charging documents to protect their privacy, Capt. James Nichols, public affairs chief for the 48th Fighter Wing, said in an email.

Pursifull arrived at Lakenheath in the summer of 2010. He works as the chief of wing exercises and inspections. He also flies in the F-15E Strike Eagle.

Because FC is the home to military aviation enthusiasts. This story is related to military aviation. Pretty simple really.

Sounds like he's suffering from PTSD. Those are some extreme actions to perform against anyone

normal or 'abnormal' life affects those in all professions, but I don't think we need to either know about it or broadcast it, this isn't 'The Sun'.
