RAF bosses have suspended low-level training flights over mid-Wales to avoid ruffling the feathers of a pair of nesting ospreys.
The Tactical Training Area in Montgomeryshire near Newtown is one of three sites in Britain where pilots can fly as low as 100ft.
Last summer a pair of ospreys called Monty and Nora – the only mating pair in Wales – hatched a brood of chicks for the first time in a century.
The Ministry of Defence has imposed a 500ft lower limit on aircraft in the area until September to avoid disturbing the birds.
