I picked this up at brunty for a fiver yesterday, and I'd like to know what it is and where it goes...

The bit in the middle i think is an attitude indicator and the bit at the bottom i think might be left/right for turns, i just don't know what it is for or where in the cockpit it is.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Looks like an ILS system gauge maybe? Possibly for carrier landings?

I had a look through the Buccaneer S1, S2 and S50 manuals and I can't see anything like it anywhere.

PS- the next post explains why!

If you bought it for a fiver mate, you got one HELL of a bargain. And it isnt from a Bucc!! :ninja:

Try an AVRO LANCASTER!

At first I was annoyed as I bought it thinking it was a genuine bucc part (the man told me 'All Buccaneer parts but i don't know what they are') and otherwise I wouldn't have bothered, however now i feel like I just got an amazing bargain!

Does it have any serial numbers on it or any identification at all?

It has what looks like '2197' or '21971' at the back where the connecty things are.

EDIT: on the back it has "A, then a crown shaped thing, then M. Below that it has REF 10 0/4 and on the other side it has S.47"

Hi, that gauge was part of a job lot donated for sale to the Buccaneer Aviation Group and was hidden away in a shed for many many years. As far as i remember from the donator its from the 1940's-50's. We had no idea what they were or what they were worth but any money raised was a good result for us.

My apologies if you were mislead by one of the team as to its identity, looks like it should of gone for more than a fiver then !
