Can't find the original thread but over a year ago there was a 41 Sqn Tornado flying around with a pod under the wing that made the aircraft "howl" in flight.
Similar to the noise a Starfighter used to make at times.
Not heard it mentioned for a while and was wondering if anyone knows if it's still around? Many thanks.
Here's one of the original threads with video viewtopic.php?f=287&t=7141&hilit=whining" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Certainly not heard it over Brize for quite awhile, but one of the posts mentions the terma pod trial was 'frozen'
There are images of a 14 Squadron Tornado carrying one in the photography area from last week. I believe it is standard fit on the Herrick Tornado's as well.
Dinger.

Listened very carefully for it on Thursday but couldn't be sure as it came over in a formation with 5 other aircraft, very fast on an airfield attack pass and again in the company of 3 other Tonkas. There was a slight sound on landing but I guess the best time would be joining the circuit or blasting round low level.
