I have to travel to Stansted next week and i'm thinking about going over to Cambridge to see the stored Hercules, so, two questions, does anyone know how many C130s there are, and the best place/places to see them from outside are.
Cheers
Dave

There are quite a few good areas to see the hercs, from memory Im not sure how many are still there. If you aproach marshals from the newmarket end and turn left at the big roundabout at the end of the airfield, up that road there is about 2-3 crash gates that have a good veiw or if you carry on up that road into cherryhinton then turn right at the lights by the church it brings you out along the back of the field, this will give a good veiw of the 'works' There is a little houseing estate oposite the car sales place that gives great views. marshals is one of the few airfields I know of that is in a very open area so if you drive round it you can soon find some where to park. the other place to go fo a real close up look at the 'works' is if you carry along the old newmarket road towards town, there is a roundabout that we call 'barnwell' there is a macky D's on your right. Turn left there and there is a road next a merc dealer. this brings you right up to the hangars.
Hope this helps
