Full story on the RAF WebsiteA Royal Air Force Flight Lieutenant has become the first pilot in the world to reach 1,000 flying hours on the Eurofighter Typhoon.
Antony ‘Parky’ Parkinson, 44, landed his jet at RAF Coningsby this morning and emerged from the cockpit having just clocked up the 1001st hour during a 90 minute training flight. Greeted by colleagues from 29 (Reserve) Squadron, Parky said “it’s a special thing to be the first in the world, and that’s a historic milestone, not just for me, but for the Typhoon. It’s taken 5 years of flying to reach 1000 hours – almost exactly 5 years to the day – and it’s a privilege to be the first pilot to get it”.
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

It also says that he has flown with virtually all of the people who have flown Typhoon. Anyone with a white glove...

Re: Typhoon pilot reaches 1000 Hours
Well done Parky, but over 5 years that is slightly less than 4 hours each week !

Re: Typhoon pilot reaches 1000 Hours
I remember an Air Cadet camp at Coningsby where the display F3, the spare and another aircraft were sat in the hangar because he'd bent them during his displays!
Also remember him at the Woodford airshow after parties but that's a completely different set of stories....

Also may i add that i think everyone is entitled to party. All work and no play makes Parky a dull boy lol.I for one as an ex serviceman would party and given the right circumstances will still do.
Indeed i am very jealous and the fact he has an Aston makes me even more jealous.
Well done Parky.

Found this on the BBC Lincolnshire website about A'P'P's 1000hrs in the Typhoon. If you scroll down there's a good radio interview
