Just to urge caution on Operational reporting.

Post by GOOSE » Sat Mar 19, 2011 7:48 pm

Ladies and gents, I know the media are doing a good job of reporting everything happening in Libya, even to the moment that aircraft launch, but can I just urge caution if you come across any sensitive information that is not yet in the public domain.

Similarly, if anything deploys to the UK and is spotted carrying any particular ordnance, please be careful in what you report.

Probably being over cautious here but I'd hate for Fighter Control to get a bad name. Many thanks. :)

I was just wondering about this. Should we be reporting UK aircraft movements as they happen?

Loose lips sink ships or whatever the Air Force equivalent is. :ninja:

goose, as said sky are monitoring this site!

They are not telling us where they are going ( like we don't know anyway ), and we don't know their targets, and with the transit time involved it's not going to make much, if any difference. ;)

I am wondering though how many people are saying don't put it on here and looking themselves

There are a lot of italian rooters listening in to this too...

Who needs Defence intelligence when the foes can watch Sky News Live at Marhams threshold and onboard the carriers, can log into FC (hic) and use Google Earth plus watch RAF/USAF News videos of all their kit being used on Libya including Ordnance being dropped! :P

But yes, Mr Geoff Meade and Co are on here........as are others from different TV networks. And they are on the yahoogroups too.
