Ramstein Flag 2025/Frisian Flag 2025
Good evening one and all ,
For the first time in my spotting adventures I have decided to travel to Leeuwarden airbase in the Netherlands for this years exercise. As this is my first spotting trip overseas I am wondering if any of you lovely people could answer a few questions for me ?
1. Will there be a spotters day held across any of the bases during this exercise? (If so how do you sign up to attend?)
2. Do any of the ground crew/pilots visit the fence line and sell patches like they have done at cobra warrior this year?
3. What is it like to spot and photograph in the Netherlands , are they relaxed on photographers spotting or do they not permit it?
4. what are the rules surrounding ladders at the fence line ? (if they are required?)
5. Is there a confirmed or rough list of aircraft in attendance across the bases?
6. what is the parking situation like around the spots at Leeuwarden airbase?
7. what are the vantage points at leeuwarden airbase and is there any places you are not allowed to go ?
I hope this topic reaches the correct people and I appreciate all the help that is provided
many thanks

Check here for a lot of info
Scramble airfield guide
https://www.scramble.nl/planning/airfie ... leeuwarden
Leeuwarden Spotters. In Dutch but Google translate is your friend.
https://www.agl-fullstop.nl/index.php/a ... stein-flag
For spottersday you have to be a member I think.
One more thing:
Flying is from Monday to Thursday, around 40 aircraft fly a training mission twice a day. This takes place between 16:30 and 23:30. On Fridays, this is from 16:30 to 19:15. So there are no flights in the mornings and at the weekend. (From site Dutch Ministry of Defence)

Re: Ramstein Flag 2025/Frisian Flag 2025
Leeuwarden during Frisian Flag is a great place and probably my favourite destination in terms of ease of travel and parking and spotting facilities available mainly due to the work of the Dutch spotting fraternity who volunteer and arrange the parking at the mound end ( total contrast to Waddington or Lakenheath)
My advice is bring a jumper and a coat as it can be chilly
You do see ladders but I don't think they are required
When is Ramstein flag? Does it clash with Iniochos?
Ta

Spotting is pretty relaxed in Netherlands. Just about everybody will speak English to you. Not sure on the accepted protocol where step ladders are concerned. Photography is widely accepted. There are 100's of Dutch spotters who do the same thing.
Hope that bit of info is useful.

Yes
I will believe it when I see them - all sorts of rumours doing the rounds for Marham
Guess they will park on the north side away from the F-35B
I need few EF-18 however a Spanish A400M would be welcome
