Wow, that's some crash. This is just to the right of the hotel we stayed at In San Diego last September whilst at the Miramar Airshow. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching F18's, H-60's, C17's, V-22's and other types landing on and taking off. Better weather may have seen more boats in that very area.
Also in my experience I have rarely seen fast jets use runway 29 (not that I'm there on a daily basis, sadly!)
