If I recall correctly it was filmed in Portugal
A-7's and Cessna 337's in the background
But still rubbish

Wasn't originally going to watch this on Saturday but ended up doing so, well made drama but found it a little daft to be honest. My main questions would be did they really contact them ahead to find out if it was ok and also when they were on the Base where they were "caught" would they not have had a guide to escort them round? The cautionary main moral of this tale is always make sure it's ok to Planespot in different countries.

In reality, we nearly bought the bungalow next to his, without knowing it was 'the planespotter'

They were there for one of the Greek saints days where they open the bases to the public and foreign visitors who have the right paper work - you can't get on in the first place without the right permission so they had every right to be on base

I went on the previous years trip which was largely trouble free although a guide/escort does follow you around while you are 'admiring' the aircraft. At Kalamata we were told not to photograph the buildings - why would you? The only incident we had was when we visited Araxos that turned out not to be included in the open days and the police chased us off and we obeyed and left the area.

Fortunately for me I couldn't go on the infamous trip the following year as my then other half had booked a holiday to Majorca

Tip: Never take a scanner to the Greek mainland

Other halves often spoil it! Or maybe not so in your case! 🤣 I used to love Majorca 😊

I know if I had to choose between Greece or Majorca, I would choose the one where they don't smash plates - Your other half made the right decision then Slogen51...
