Hi,

I am visiting Albania for 2 weeks next month and I am looking for any information regarding the Shenyang fighters that were located at Kucove Airbase. The latest information regarding them is from 2022 that I can find, but since then the base has seen a major upgrade for NATO operations. Is there anyone within the group that has more recent knowledge of their existence? I have contacted the Albanian Embassy but so far have not yet had a response.

If you don't get a response from the Albanian Embassy and having 'raised your head above the parapet' with them, I would be very dubious about going near their air bases. On the other hand, as they are cosying-up to NATO, they may welcome your interest and facilitate you. Sorry to be negative, but I have in mind the misfortunes encountered by spotters in Greece a few years back who got arrested!
