Looks like sayonara to the Land Warfare Hall, or am I missing something?

The Land Warfare Hall is going, they announced several months ago that it was going to be repurposed, but didn't actually specify what. I have also read that some of the privately owned aircraft will also have to move out.

It is, I did a bit of googling and there was the suggestion that the land warfare collection might be going to Pima, I can’t believe we would allow the export of this collection, that should cause a national outrage.
Re: IWM Duxford Redevelopment AvTech
The far end of land warfare is closed and exhibits are being moved.
Its closure has been indicated in previous plans that failed to launch.
Yes some of the exhibits are due to go to Pima as I understand from a good friend Rob who visited Pima in March.
Many of the exhibits are not owned by IWM. Some are on loan.
The Tiger 1 tank is a replica made for the film saving Private Ryan.
The British regiments sections will have to go somewhere too.
A considerable piece of history there and very well laid out too. It is going and its simply vandalism. Great shame on IWM.

Oh if LWM goes then this is a real shame! Glad I went over and over again and took many photos now! What on earth is Duxfords long term aims? It seems like it's losing its way a bit !

Re: IWM Duxford Redevelopment AvTech
I'm guessing that money is probably the reason why this is happening. First they push out Flying Legends, now several private owners get the push, followed by closing the LWH and selling off part of the site to a third party. Hopefully if any cash is generated it will be put back into the main site in some way that adds to the aviation element. Or is the ultimate aim to make it a theme park?
Hope I'm wrong in the above supposition.

I guess they're just trying to monetize what they can. Does any one know if the hotel development behind Airspace is still going ahead? not that I am endorsing that BTW! and how will that influence flying operations I wonder.
Re: IWM Duxford Redevelopment AvTech
Came across this yesterday which if taken at face value adds more colour to the changes. In that case the IWM have presented this really badly. https://www.arrse.co.uk/community/attac ... df.807161/

To be honest with Cambridge Airport closing. Maybe they could look into providing somewhere for the private aircraft and maybe the air ambulance
