I am sorry to report spitfire has crashed at coningsby, no further details at moment, helimed inbound. Thoughts with the pilot at this time.

Rescue 912 also inbound from Humberside.

Thread locked, as is normal after such an event.

Been confirmed the pilot was killed sadly. Thread will be unlocked for people to pay respect. Any speculation will be removed

Thoughts go out to the pilots family all those at the BBMF and RAF Coningsby the wider local community and the wider air display world .

My sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the pilot.
