A great RN SHAR Pilot. Very well publicised for his sorties from HMS Illustrious in the Falklands conflict. You served your country well. RIP

Yes, sad news and obituaries on line. He was residing in Grenada, West Indies. I read that his son also joined the FAA and became a Shar pilot, sadly his son passed away in 2018. Must re-read the book too. Blue skies!

Sharkey Ward RIP.

Just read that Cdr Nigel Ward has passed away.

Here was a real warrior and hero who served his nation, rather than the endless platitudes that fill this forum about celebrities who have acted, sang, played sport for and various other non entities who certain posters think are important

Thank you for the update.
I didn't see the original post.

A real warrior who all on this forum should acknowledge as a true hero.

Sad news, RIP sir.
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!
