Might as well start this now as notification of rehearsals has appeared in the local paper. Rehearsal will be on 3/4 June and aircraft involved will include Tornados according to the paper! Maybe the RAF will borrow some!https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/24206117.mi ... folk-june/

I think he's saying the chap would be qualified to work for the mail on account of him writing drivel. Unless of course the RAF have been working on them secretly at Cosford, if only eh!

As the “House of Windsor” has deep routed German roots, then GAF Tornado’s would be quite appropriate!…..😀😀😀😀😀

They've amended their article; probably after multiple calls about the error!

Thinking about going to Cranwell to see the rehearsal. Spot on the A17 looks good...but will they be applying parking restrictions??

A17 can be very dangerous. Apart from the odd gateway, which may or may not give a view, people generally use the lane near the south-west corner which links the A17 and B6403.

See following guide for Cranwell. Most people use 'L'. Plenty of parking on the grass at that location.

Have they stopped using Waddington now for the rehearsal?

Yes, I think they've only did that once or twice and haven't used it for a number of years. Some of the participants for the practice will be operating out of Waddington or recovering into after.

Thanks for the info and links - v helpful.
I was thinking of using the A17 side for photography but I wonder if that spot might be too close to the flypast. Any idea at what height they fly 250 or 500ft? NOTAM's silent/

Should be ok but if in doubt, the lane mentioned has open views.

Is that Byrds Leap? They do a nice brekkie there, but the junction's very blind & dangerous, especially if you're turning right (towards Sleaford). One place that could definitely do with lights.
