Aviano start retiring HH-60G's
the 56th RQS retired its first HH-60G today , 88-26114/AV, starting transition to the W.
Re: Aviano start retiring HH-60G's
Unfortunately they've been retiring them for a while now, its a shame. I've not heard that they have any W's coming yet, but they are starting to filter down after 41st RQS became operational with the new Jolly Green II. The 512th at Kirtland has a few, the 33rd at Kadena just received a couple & a squadron at DM has a couple now. It only leaves the 56th as the only regular USAF unit not receiving any. They are the smallest rescue unit in the USAF and only had 5 when they were based at Lakenheath. I think they have/had a few more at Aviano, so can probably loose a couple before they need the W's. Hopefully they'll come soon.
