Interestingly between 1300 and 1400 GMT yesterday there was Mode A activity in that area using sqwk 6443 6442 and standard conspicuity codes.

hmm..interesting. however, i know a few people who spend every spare minute on the welsh hills, i would guess the whole world would know by now if it did happen.

Yes, Somebody did something in a Typhoon that ended up online and they got stopped using it.

I suspect the incident is mentioned on here somewhere

Think the RAF "restriction" was imposed back in 2019.
My reference to Mode A traffic is just that....traffic , suspect it was probably USAF F15/F35 but I wasn't around at the time to verify it .

I've got a link to the original tweet if it's OK to post? Don't want to get in trouble!

Up. That was, I believe, part of the issue.

I was camping in Minffordd and can confirm the Typhoon made one pass through the Mach loop. Didn't realise how rare it was until others mentioned it at the campsite. Definitely got lucky on my first visit to the loop!

so. after someone i know was speaking to the typhoon display team over the RIAT weekend, he was informed "the ban has been lifted".

i can only assume this is official but if you know otherwise, please don't shoot the messenger.

Gareth, I'm sure i counted 8 passes of Typhoons today in the Loop. 3 different pairs i believe. Sadly i was at home, felt sick as i planned on popping up 🤣. Luckily this is my view from the bedroom window.
