Great news. I did the BHHH technical tour last year (highly recommended) and asked about the Mosquito project. There were a few issues to be resolved, and from what they said a new hangar will be built specifically for the Mosquito. I can't wait for this, the last plane my dad flew in the RAF was a Mosquito in Aden in 1946, it was BAe's T.III RR299 so I'll definitely be in the queue for a flight.

Seeing as it's "From £6,750" for the Blenheim (https://www.aerialcollective.co.uk/aircraft/blenheim/), presumably Mosquito would be similar (or even more expensive)?

Time to remake 633 Sqn.

30 mins will be pricey, I'd expect 8-10k. When I did the BHHH tech tour they went into the operating costs of a Spitfire, they don't actually make a great deal of profit from the flights, its an expensive business.

I did see on the BBC news Tues 7th of Feb 23 there was a feature regarding the 'Peoples Mosquito' in which they claim the bare-bones of a fuselage will be a flying example in 2026! The Race is on!
Presumably this was in reaction to the news released by Biggin Hill HH. regarding them sub-contracting their Mosquito-build to AVSPECS in NZ. Info' shamelessly copied here from Scramble. NL. with due credit.

"Mosquito to be restored for Biggin Hill."
Exciting news was announced by Peter Monk, Managing Director of Flyaspitfire.com and the Spitfire Company (Biggin Hill) on 6 February 2023. In a few years’ time they expect to have their own airworthy Mosquito at Biggin Hill!
The subject is an (yet unrevealed) FB Mk.VI that will be restored by the world leading Mosquito restoration firm, Avspecs in New Zealand.
Although there is plenty of expertise in restoring historic aircraft of metal construction at Biggin Hill, the restoration of a ‘Wooden Wonder’ is a different piece of cake, and that is why Avspecs Ltd. has been selected as restorer.
Upon completion the aircraft will join the fleet of two seat Spitfires and other WWII aircraft that are available for flight experiences at Biggin Hill. It is expected that the restoration of this future unique British ‘Mossie’ will take at least three years.

I personally would welcome a single Mosquito flying in the UK.... TWO would be amazing!

People's Mosquito has been around for a while, one of the leading figures used to be a member on here, I can't remember their user name now.

I can imagine operating costs are massive, but they do seem to be able to increase their number of aircraft on a more than regular basis, so money being made somewhere.

Some two seat historics are privatley owned then leased to those who do the flights. The two seat Hurricane is operated that way, it was at BHHH for a year, when the lease came up for renewal a rival company bid more so it moved.

That is a few bob, I might start looking down the back of the sofa. Interesting that there may well be two up and running by then.

But then again, for that price you could do Oshkosh a couple of times...etc, etc..
