Tutors Grounded?

Post by Coasties » Mon Jan 30, 2023 4:32 pm

I've not noticed any Tutors flying for the last ten days or so, anyone know if they are grounded again?

Regards
John

There is a thread/rumour on PPrune that they are indeed grounded again, with one or more broken wing ribs being the alleged reason.

Benson's Tutors were flying extensively up to Friday 20th Jan, but none since, which would fit your observation.

G-BYUD has just flown Wittering to Membury, so perhaps any grounding is temporary until individual aircraft were inspected?

No Tutor action at Benson so far this morning, but that may be due to the cloud-base only being at 1200ft.

Large numbers of Tutors airborne around the country this morning (according to ADSB Exchange) so the grounding looks over.

The inspections were carried out and the grounding lifted. This will be a repeat inspection during major inputs.
