So according to this statement an 11 year contract has been awarded.Red-Eye-Knight wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 10:00 pmInteresting read thought others might be interested.

Does this result in the Red Arrows soldiering on till 2033 with the Mk T1 rather than the originally stated 2030?
Or is this just another DE&S contract that will be amended and cost the tax payer money? !

Err no, the contract primarily involves the T2, not the Red Arrows T1. The T1 support is a relatively minor add-on, regardless of the rather sensationalist headline.

Well no, if you read the article is predominantly for the T2 which have (more than) 11 years life in them I suspect.FlyingFairy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 3:02 amSo according to this statement an 11 year contract has been awarded.Red-Eye-Knight wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 10:00 pmInteresting read thought others might be interested.

OSD for the TMk.2 is 2040.
This renewed contract has been on the cards for a while, the original HIOS contract had several extensions, presumably they were able to seal it after the "Black" T1 fleet was withdrawn.
