Cobra Warrior 22-1

Post by Bierset1989 » Mon Jan 24, 2022 7:24 pm

Hi All
Scramble has this exercise starting on March 7th for 3 weeks, is there any truth in this and if so any idea of participating aircraft.

If it's the same as the last two years it's possible, with all assets flying from home bases - I can't remember if any foreign jets joined in though, might have just been RAF and Lakenheath jets.

Hi all, there are unconfirmed rumours that Indians and Saudis will turn up in the UK for Cobra Warrior 22-1. Does anyone have any insight or heard anything similar about this?

Thanks

Are you referencing the 2019 event, or are the restrictions active for this year?

Drove past the base on the A607/A15/Tower lane yesterday and saw nothing.

Parking restrictions for Waddington dated 7/3/2022 to 22/3/2022 (Restrictions to be implemented as and when required during this period). The rest detailling each road ref parking, road closures and speed limits too long to print out.

Can you share the link to the info if there is one please?

I saw a screenshot post Facebook, saying Saudis to Coningsby and Belgian F16/Swedish Gripens to Leeming. It didn’t state who this came from!

I've heard the following participating:

Indians, Saudis, Belgians, Swedish and then Waddo/Coningsby/Leeming all mentioned as host bases. Time will tell.

Out of interest, any idea what the Indians would send if they did come? They operate a good range of aircraft types. SU-30?

Su-30MKi more than likely, or maybe Rafale?

Personally I think it's unlikely, surely that kind of visitor would have been known by now?

We knew 4/5 months in advance of the Israeli participants back in 19. Happy to be wrong of course!

Moved to the mess for now until we get clarification on what's going where, think an exercise sub forum could be handy soon.
